a New Change

in my life. I have been teaching RS every 3rd Sunday for the past 4 years (but I've been thru 5 manuals now). Needless to say I've been itching for a change for some time now. Well, the Lord must have known this and finally decided to answer some prayers as a couple weeks ago I was officially released from RS, then immediately called & sustained to the position of Laurel's advisor in our YW's.

I am excited for the change - which surprised me a bit given that my own YW experience was less than great (I personally hated it and had some negative experiences.) But hopefully I can take those experiences and turn them into something positive that will help me be a good advisor. I only have 2 Laurels under me (one is inactive, the other comes about 50% of the time) and I don't have to teach as we always meet together (we only have 6 YW in all). But it will be fun to get to know the girls that come out as well as the other YW leaders. Needless to say I am excited for this new challenge, especially the Super Activity which I get to help organize the end of July -WHITE WATER RAFTING in Jackson Hole for 3 days!!! Whoo-hooo! I can't wait.

YW is definitely a challenging position in the church...honestly, I think it's one of the hardest. It's all I've done since AJ and I were married, and I don't think that I'll be released anytime soon. Your YW sounds a lot like ours, so I can't wait to hear all of the fun things that you do. I'm not even going to tell my girls about your Super Activity, because they will immediately want to know why we can't do something like that, although we are trying to put together a white water rafting trip for them next summer.

I'm excited for you!
