one of those days

Do you ever have one of those days where your heart hurts because you LOVE someone or something so much? I had one of those days this past week. And it was all because of these two amazing kiddos. I just love them so much it hurts ... in a very GOOD way!

So long, farewell...

Just sold this last week ... for $50 less than what we paid for it. I am sad to see it go but with the gym membership and workout buddy (who gets me to the gym at 6am), there just wasn't a need for it any longer. Cause let's face it, as much as working out feels great, the last thing I am going to do after hitting the gym or going to Zumba is come home and work out on the machine.

And I have to admit, it's nice not having it in the family room.

Dear 10-miler

I've dreaded you all week long, but I forced myself to conquer you this morning and I FREAKIN' DID IT - all 10.15 miles of pavement & asphalt. Here's to knowing that I'm that much closer to being ready for the SLC 1/2 marathon in April.

Notes to self:
1. running this long by yourself in a freakin' wind storm (rendering your music totally useless) SUCKS
2. I really missed having my sister Val with me
3. To my other sister Shauna training by herself in San Diego - I love you so much more knowing that this is how all your long runs are. I can't wait for you to get up here for the race so we can all run together.

(thanks to Liz S. for the shot block gels. They were great and I know I did better having used them.)

Snow Love

It's not a secret that we dislike winter and the snow. We are pretty open about it. But last week after a short snow storm, we put our personal feelings aside and took the kids sledding. It was a really fun afternoon. By the time we left Finley was going down by himself, sometimes even face-first on his tummy. He did NOT want to leave and could have stayed on that sled forever, but Berlin was done after an hour. Snapshots from our fun day together. I have to admit that even I don't mind the snow on days like this one.

The Tooth Fairy

visited our home for the first time ever last night.

Finley was eating dinner and talking to Ryan. Ryan noticed that his front tooth look weird. Finley goes to the bathroom and comes back saying it's loose. Sure enough a wobbly tooth. And just seconds later it was out and in his hand - with little to no effort (pain). Lucky Duck. I don't remember it being that easy. I remember my mom or dad tying dental floss around the tooth and having to tug rip them out. I hope that the other teeth pop out in such a painless manner.

The best part, Finley's lips are so full that you can't really tell he lost a tooth. Hence all the fingers holding his lip down. Pretty awesome.
