Finley - (seen with cousins Avery & Kemry) the newest hatchlings at the zoo

Finley - taming the savage beast

Finley (aka Col. Sanders) - finger lickin' good, or as Finn would say, "Hmm, tastes yummy!"

Two minds are better than one ...

I say that because Ryan is sitting here next to me, helping me write this blog. What a team. The kids are asleep and we are watching a soccer match on Telemundo and tinkering on the laptop. I love down time.

We spent the last weekend up at Bear Lake with Ryan's Team KWGCS friends & their families. It was a blast and all the kids (801's) played so well together. These are just a few pics from the weekend. I'm sure some of them are still feeling the aftermath of the intense Bear Lake sun despite our many efforts to warn them (encourage them) to apply & reapply sunscreen often.

As I (we) sit here writing we find ourselves humming, singing, laughing to songs from the Flight of the Conchords episodes. Darn those catchy tunes. This is our favorite show right now (HBO - though we watch it on youtube.com). For some good times be sure to check out our top 3 favorite songs from past episodes. We love these guys.

2. If your into it: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pY8jaGs7xJ0
3. Mermaid: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=X7TchFA6ntI

ok - let's make it top 4, we are having trouble making up our minds:

Pretty Pretty Princess

Ok, so these pictures are obviously not from her Blessing. But I realized after she was blessed 3 months ago that I didn't get any pictures of her in her dress alone, with Ryan and I, nor with Finn. So, we played dress up the other day to take some pictures of her in her beautiful blessing dress that her Grandma Leach so lovingly made. I love it because it has puff sleeves, and for those you are familiar with Anne of Green Gables, you'll know just how lovely puff sleeves can be. She really is my pretty pretty princess.

Of course, she was cutting her 2nd tooth this same day so she was chewing her lip or tongue in most the pictures. And Finn refused to sit with her and get his picture taken, though he had no problem getting her to look to the side. So I'll have to do that another day when both are more amiable to my requests. Hooray for another dress-up day!

Growing like a weed...

Our little Berlinee (ber*lyn*ee) is 6 months old today. That's just one of many nicknames bestowed upon her. She had her 6 month shots this morning and was such a trooper. As with Finn, I found myself blinking back tears as they had me hold her down on the table. Seriously, is there anything worse than seeing your own kids cry? It just breaks my heart to hear their blood-curdling screams and cries when they get poked. Thank heavens that hugs & kisses make it all better.

She's 25 inches tall and 16 lbs. Definitely not as tall as her big brother but that's ok - I'm hoping that means she won't outgrow all her clothes as quickly as Finn did. She loves to play on the snail rocker in the toy room. She has 2 teeth now and it looks like the 3rd is coming in, which means that her clothes and blankets are always soaked from sucking on them, and her hands are always slimy and wet be it from sucking her thumb or shoving the nearest toy into her mouth. She is by far a more avid chewer than Finley. We are on a routine now with 2 naps a day usually at the same time which makes it easy for us to plan our day with the usual errands, playdates, and fun outings.

To Infinity and Beyond

Yeah, the title pretty much sums this blog up - along with the picture of Finn. Honestly I've never seen him grin so big before. He just loves Buzz lightyear and this is him on the day I broke down and bought him one.Yes, I'm a sucker, but I'd about had it with all the tears and drama that dragged on for hours whenever we left someone's house that had a buzz. This was supposed to be his "Hooray I'm potty trained" reward, but come on, who are we kidding - he's obviously still in a diaper and I have a feeling it will be awhile despite my attempts/efforts.
I have to say however that it's been the best $15 I've spent in a long time when I consider the peace and quiet it's bought me (not to mention my sanity). Of course, that is until I have to keep putting on the wings that seem to snap off at the thought of them. Then I'm bombarded with the never-ending "Fix-it Mommy!" Which, though annoying after a while it is way better than tears and tantrums in my world.
